Weekend Wrap-up

This past weekend we took a few days off and headed down to the coast for a little getaway. It is so nice to pack up and get away from "the real world" for a few days!


Brad got lots of fishing in and I was able to finish reading the Fifty Shades of Grey book, which was great! I already started the second one in the series. Definitely different than my most recent read, The Hunger Games, but I must say it is excellent!

I also was able to work on my photography skills. In Seadrift they have what is called the Art Boat. They have artists from all over the world come and design pieces. I have driven by it for months and always wanted to go take pictures of some of the pieces and this weekend gave me the perfect opportunity! (I do have to say the bug with the green face was a little creepy!)

I also decided after seeing so many bloggers create great art that I wanted to pick up yet another hobby and paint as well! I love Jen Ramos (Made by Girl and Cocoa and Hearts) and Sarah Swanson (Flourish Design + Style)  so I decided to follow them. **Disclaimer: I am NOT selling these nor claiming the designs on my own! I am just using them as "instructional photos" to see if I can at least follow along and to then create my own style**

I am also super excited to say that I won a pair of Stella & Dot earrings from Sara at Social Sara and Andrea Owsley, a Stella & Dot Representative.!! Super excited to get them!

Looking forward to getting back to blogging, oh how I've missed reading my favorite blogs and seeing the comments you all leave on mine. They truly do make my day!!
