Weekend Update

Oh Monday, why do you seem to come up so quickly? The work week seems to drag on at times and those two days during the weekend just fly by!

I had one of the best weekends! I spent a lot of time with my husband which always makes me a happy lady & met up with one of my best blog friends, Shanna, for a blate! It was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. to finally meet a blog friend in person!! More on that in a bit! This weekend I had so much queso and guacamole I don't know what to do with myself!

Thursday, my day off, I got to have lunch with a dear friend that I use to work with. She is also a PA and we are very very close. She has four little boys and stays so busy! I admire her & her husband so much for making life look so easy in all the chaos! I also ran to Charming Charlie's. I haven't been in this store in so long and was instantly a little overwhelmed! However, I was on a mission for an animal print scarf, and I found just that! It is an infinity scarf and absolutely perfect! I plan on showing you later this week :) I also picked up a few great necklaces and silk hair ties! A great shopping trip indeed!

Now, onto our weekend! Brad has been working such long hours and it seems like the days go by and we barely get to see each other, let alone go to dinner or out for the evening. This weekend we were able to do just that! We stood in line to vote Friday night for TWO hours!! That's right, we were those people that waited until the last day of early voting. Shame on us! Afterwards we were starving so we headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant for of course a Mexican beer (or two), queso, quacamole and tacos! Yum!! (thank you husband for being a hand model)

I wore this outfit...
{Loft blouse, skinnies & necklace and Target flats}

These are the Target flats... Cute - yes, Comfortable - heck NO!! They rubbed my feet all over and gave me blisters in only a few hours time. These suckers were going straight to the dumpster!

So...Saturday I headed north to San Marcos to meet Shanna. You know what else is in San Marcos?? My favorite outlet mall that is the home to the Tory Burch Outlet Store! (Did you hear the angels singing when I typed that????) I always check out the store because you can find some great deals from time to time. Unfortunately, they rarely have my size in shoes (lucky for my bank account), however this weekend I lucked out!

So, getting to my TB Outlet store trip...I told myself the only thing I could buy were some animal print flats if they had them to replace my blister-giving flats. I had loved this pattern and have so many great outfits planned for them. Well my friends, my feet got very happy when the sales lady brought them out in my size! Woohoo!!!! So, here are my new comfortable TB cheetah Reva flats. I am such a happy lady!

After making a few more stops at the mall I headed into San Marcos to a perfect spot to meet Shanna. Lucky for me there were lots of TV's with college football on and my Aggies were front & center and kicking booty! Whoop!

Shanna & I spent several hours chatting, laughing and plotting more "blates" as well as a trip to the coast with our husbands. She is so sweet and down to earth, exactly as she appears on her blog! I could have spent all day chatting! I find that it is SO amazing that the blogging world brings so many of us together. How else would I meet so many wonderful ladies like Shanna that I just know will be lifelong friends? Thank you technology :) Her sweet girls & hubby came to pick her up and it was so fun to meet them too! Again, after feeling like you know someone so well after reading all about their families and lives it is just surreal to finally meet in person! Thank you Shanna for taking time out of your busy weekend to meet me :) I can't wait for our next get together!! You are amazing lady!

After I got home Brad & I took off on a few errands and then realized that he didn't have his debit card. After I freaked out and checked our account to make sure there weren't any crazy charges we called the Mexican Restaurant we ate at the night before. Sure enough, they had the card, phew! So, dinner at the Mexican Restaurant again it was! Fajitas that night with queso, quacaole and ritas :) Had to change it up you know!

Sunday was a fun & relaxing day. Coffee, internet browsing, football & wings! Brad made his famous guacamole too. (told you I had lots of queso & guacamole).

and I got a new orchid! Hope this one lasts longer than my previous one!

I am excited for this week and ready for next weekend when I will be heading to my sister's baby shower!! I can't wait to show you all pictures, it is going to be amazing!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Every time I see an orchid, I think "I need to buy one!" but always skip over them at the store. I feel like it's such a splurge and I always kill my plants. :( Love the new flats. I have some from Target from last year and they're pretty darn comfy. I did read about a lot of people saying this year's flats were not comfy at all. Cute necklace too!
