blonde ambitions: The difference in a lens.

Over the weekend I had the chance to practice using my camera with my different lenses. Right now I have 3 lenses and favorite 2 of them. My new 55-300mm and 35mm are my two favorites. The other zoom lens, an 18-55mm is not my favorite...I think the pictures below can show you why!
I have three different lenses and here are the stats on each. They are all Nikon DX lenses:
1. 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6
2. 35mm 1:1.8G
3. 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 G

This picture was taken with my 35mm lens, ISO 100, 35mm, f/1.8, S 1/30

This picture was taken with my 18-55mm lens, ISO 800, 35mm, f/5, S 1/30

So, what do you think? Which lens is your favorite? I really love the 55-300. I can be far away, zoom in and really blur the background. But, I also love my 35mm lens because it gets down to a f-stop of 1.8 and gives a great blurred background as well.

I am wanting to buy a flash as well this week just to help add indirect light to certain areas. I also am wanting to get a card for my camera that is bluetooth enabled and automatically downloads pictures to my laptop. Love it!!

Courtney said...: Great post! I love my 50 1.4 and my 50 - 200mm for the kids' sports activities. I am hit or miss with my 18-55mm, sometimes I get great shots and sometimes I don't!
