What I've been eating

Today I thought I would share some of the healthy & tasty foods I've tried over this week! I have been a fan of My Fit Foods for a few years now but the only close location was still out of the way for me to get to on a regular basis...until this month! They just opened a location only a few miles from our home! We are very excited because all of the foods we have had from them have been very good and great in caloric count as well!

The things I really like about these meals are:
  1. They are heavy and the nutritional information is listed on each one. You know exactly what you are getting with each meal.
  2. All food parts of each meal is made fresh in the store. You can see the chefs preparing the meals when you are shopping.
  3. Most meals are gluten-free. Now, I'm not saying that is all I eat but if it is available in meals such as these then why not choose them?
  4. Portions are already prepared for me. I guess I am lazy, I just don't like to make my lunch or meals for the day the night before work or the next morning. It is great that they do it for me!
  5. They come in small, medium, large sizes. I buy the small for myself (those are the calories I listed below) and I buy my husband the medium size. They even sell pounds of foods such as salmon, chicken, rice, asparagus for family style nights.
Here are the ones I tried this week:

Picnic Time
220 calories
I loved this combination of cheese, fruit, water crackers and nuts.
It was perfect as a morning snack!

Hawaiian Chicken
390 calories
This meal was perfect! The sweetness from the fruit added such great flavor to the already seasoned chicken and rice. I will definitely be having this one again, maybe for dinner next time.

Fit Mac
300 calories
At first bite I wasn't thrilled with this...I thought it would have more cheese. Why would I think that??
Instead it was ground turkey with macaroni.
After a few more bites I grew to like this quite a bit. I'm not sure how often I will be having this one. I felt like it just needed a little more flavor.

Salmon Stirfry
310 calories
This was my favorite meal by far! The stirfry seasoned veggies, rice and salmon fillet were cooked perfectly!! I can't wait to have this meal again, very soon!

Flat iron tacos
300 calories
My husband had these for lunch and really liked them with the exception the corn tortillas fell apart. He said he ate the filling instead of eating it like a taco. It has flat iron steak, black beans and pico in it! Yum!!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo
350 calories
My husband had this one for lunch and really liked it. It had lean chicken breast on wheat and gluten-free rice pasta. He said it had a great flavor.

If you have a My Fit Foods then you need to check it out, then come back and thank me!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

I have had all of these, and I agree, the mac and cheese is awful. Especially when real mac and cheese is delicious! During busy season our firm has this thing called "Dining In" and My Fit Foods is a place we can order from...and they pay for it! Score! Looks like from now until April 15th there is no excuse for me to not eat healthy!
